Big Walk PC and Mac System Requirements

Last checked: August 9, 2026 (US region)

Quick answer: on Windows you need at least Windows 10, a Core i7-7700K or Ryzen 5 1600X, 12 GB RAM and a GTX 750 Ti-class GPU. On Mac, the Steam version needs macOS 15 with Apple Silicon (M1 or newer) and 16 GB RAM, while the Mac App Store listing only states macOS 12 or later. Storage is not listed on Steam.

Mac requirements — Mac App Store version

The standalone Mac App Store version lists only "requires macOS 12.0 or later" and shows a 3.4 GB download size. It does not publish CPU or RAM requirements.

The two Mac stores disagree: Steam asks for macOS 15, M1 and 16 GB RAM, while the App Store says macOS 12+. There is no official explanation for the difference — it could be packaging or metadata. Judge compatibility against the store you actually buy from; do not assume macOS 12 support carries over to the Steam version.

Can my PC run Big Walk?

  1. Decide where you are buying: Steam or the Mac App Store.
  2. Check your OS version against that store's table above.
  3. Check CPU and RAM.
  4. On Windows, confirm your GPU against the minimum list (including the Intel Arc option).
  5. Meeting minimum specs means the game should start and run; meeting recommended specs is the safer target for a smooth session.

The developers have not published target resolutions or frame rates, and there is no word on ray tracing or DLSS/FSR support — so no one can honestly promise "60 fps at 1440p" from official data.

If performance is bad

The official FAQ's tuning order:

  1. Lower Render Scale first — this reduces GPU load.
  2. Then lower Quality — this reduces CPU and GPU load.
  3. Raise Render Scale again step by step until it looks right.

Also worth knowing: in online sessions, everyone's experience can be affected by the host's frame rate and connection. If the whole group stutters, check the host's machine or try a different host.
